Get the whole jeep shaft, it bolts in pretty easily and if you're careful, it replaces the tulip and the rag without screwing up steering wheel position at all.

oh, so take both Jeep u-joints and the upper joint will attatch to the steering column somewhere inside the cab?

No, the shaft from joint to join will drop in place just in front of the firewall and replace the tulip and rag joints. It only needs to be compressed about an inch and a half to two inches. I'll see if I can get a picture tomorrow when I do my idler arm.

ohhhh, is the tulip joint in a rubber housing? i forgot that was even there. thanks!

what did you get that out of? i was looking at some grand cherokee's and such and they look a lot different.. square body cherokee? sorry for the continuous questions :P

My brain wants to say a 94 or 96 Grand Cherokee, but I'm not completely sure. The thick section at the top is a fully built in isolator that is some material I'm not familiar with, it's pliable but super super hard, it's just enough to take out really small vibrations, but doesn't allow any twist at all.

i got mine from a squarebody late 80s cherokee. fit perfect on my 1st gen.
