alignments spec?
« on: August 31, 2009, 06:20:55 PM »
Now that I have the Blazer lowered I need to get it aligned.  I'd like to get a slightly more aggressive alignment performed but don't know what specs to use.  I know the front geometry is crap but I'd like to get the best I can out of the alignment.

From GBodyForum.com,
"these are generic specs for spirited street driving without major tire wear on an older GM
caster d/s +3-5 p/s +5-7
camber d/s and p/s -.3--.5
toe .05-.10 toe in"

Anyone have suggestions?

Those will work well on a street ride.   My last hot rod ran 9* of caster, -1.5* of camber and 3/16 toe each side with no significant tire wear.  The most common alignment response for performance alignment is as much caster as possible, keep camber about -1.0* and 3/16-1/4" total toe-in.

Thanks for the response.  What platform was you last ride on?  Was your car lowered and did it have adjustable or stock UCA?

1968 El Camino and yeah, it was low...about 1" of ground clearance.  Tubular arms but not adjustable, I built the added caster into the arm itself.
