Zq8 Frame brace

I installed mine this weekend on my 1st gen RCSB.  Is it just my imagination, or have you guys noticed a significant difference after installing one?  feels so much tighter and like it's more heavy duty without being heavy. 

only problem is, my horrible suspension feels more pronounced now, so i REALLY need to get all of my new stuff installed. 

so am i crazy?  placebo affect? or is it that much of an upgrade?

It is an especially significant upgrade on first gen trucks because of the lack of boxing on the frame. It is a good upgrade on any of the trucks though.

Here's something I didn't expect from it.  After a few days of driving, I noticed my wheel hop is almost gone.  Only thing I can think is that the leafs were flexing so much that it was translated into the frame and making it twist slightly causing the wheel hop to be even more pronounced.  I can still hear it skipping the tires just a touch when i drop the clutch from a stand still, but it's very light and actually hooks up and goes.

Before it would literally bounce and jar the truck so hard that the dash mat would come off the dash before I had a chance to let off.    Man, if I would have known it was going to make such an overall difference I would have picked up one of these a LONG time ago.

depending on price... any reason to go with a "real" zq8 bar over building my own bar?

None at all.

Price?  Ease of installation/fabrication?

Other than that I can't think of any.

This won't be important to most but a non-OEM brace may affect classing in auto-X whereas stock pieces usually won't.
