Project: BroTruck
« on: March 13, 2013, 03:57:12 PM »
Whats up guys? Ive been on S10F forever and came over here a bit ago. Some may recognize my truck. A little history behind the truck. It was my first car, my parents bought it for me when I was 17 so I could haul my dirtbike around and so they made sure I had the slowest turd possible so I didnt kill myself haha. Shortly after my senior year I wanted so paintjob. So it went into the shop for a lime green/black paintjob... well somewhere it got turned into a frame off build using a full Painless wiring kit haha. My dad helped me out tremendously with the build and paying for stuff (I got a full ride through college for soccer so they were more willing to help on the build then pay 30 grand a year for college and I think he was living vicariously through me since when he wa my age he had a blown 72 chevellehaha). Well an engine shop next to the body shop wanted the 2.2 in it for a what they said "fully rebuilt" 350. So I swapped it out and between moving shops 3 times, sittin in a garage for 2 years it finally was done and drivable about 4.5 years later.
I started having engine problems, I didnt drive it much.. maybe 45miles a year haha.. I was still away at college. Finally moved back to my home town and noticed a bad oil leak and on the top end it was awful. Come to find out my "rebuilt 350" was a beat dick 327 with used and new internals, valves were different sizes and the heads were cracked like crazy. So I traded my 327 block for a track built 350. The engine is from a very well known shop here in town and my dad has done business with them for his boat engines, great guys, so I know Im not getting stiffed.

anywayssssss.... that brings us to present.
its been 2 years and progress is coming along nicely. I'm doing this all by myself this time around and using it as a learning experience. I'm very very detailed and anal retentive so thats why its taking forever haha
