Mine was a very tight fit. Might have even pushed the ears out a hair.  Just goes to show that it is a flexible place of the frame and can't hurt to have the extra brace.

Looks good sans bumper!  I'm working on getting a frame brace now so hopefully mine will go in just as easily as yours did

I'm surprised by the fact that I can actually feel a difference with the brace.  I'd add it to my "cheap must do's" list.

I did the "Big 3" upgrade today.  Basically just piggybacking the factory grounds and alt power wire with 4 gauge wire.  Cost me around $20.  I have a problem with the lights dimming when my electric fan turns on.  After doing the upgrade...I still have a problem with my headlights dimming when the fan turns on.  Don't really see where the wires did much, maybe it helps just a little.

While working on the truck I noticed:

1. Small transmission line leak
2. Small Radiator Leak
3. Frayed spark plug wire

*sighs

Sounds like what happens when I work on my cars.  Always finding new things to fix.

Have you tried upgrading/adding a ground directly to the radiator support.  I keep blowing turn signal fuses on my Blazer and I'm guessing that is due to no direct ground to the rad support since I didn't think about the fact the factory used one from the battery when I moved it out back.

Guess I should update this a little.

here's a pic of the truck now:

...j/k.

Fixed my check engine light, changed the fuel filter and it hasn't been on since.  Got a free set of corner lights like I had back before I lowered my truck.  My old set busted after trying to open them up to clean them.

I took some black bumper and trim paint and sprayed the valence, rear bumper trim, and the handles.  looks a lot better.  need to do the mirrors though.  Last but not least, I got a new head unit, the tuner went out on the old one.

Tell me what you guys think about this:

Cost me $10 and an afternoon to make the lip.  Yes, it came from Home Depot. lol

It's a 6' piece of brick paver edging.  Using a saw I cut the tabs on the back down and using my dremel I trimmed the sides up so the bottom of the lip would stay parallel to the ground.  It's attached to the valence using some screws.

It's still a little rough around the edges.  I probably need to sand it down some and put another coat of paint on it.

Here's a pic of it before I attached it.

It looks like a factory piece from here.  Nice work.  I'd only guess it came from Home Depot because I know there isn't anyone who would make that part for sale.

i prefer plywood splitters, which are also available at home depot.
but yours does seem to fit/contour well.
my blazer is cooler than your s10

Hey guys, I know I haven't been on in a while but I just wanted to post up that the Project Green Machine is over.

I just picked up a new ride and it's not a S10...

It's a 2013 4.8l with the towing package (which means it comes with the larger 36mm front sway bar, G80 diff, and 46mm rear shocks)

of course I've already got a lowering kit for it.  I'll start a new project thread once I get started on it.

Here's a quick photoshop to give you guys an idea:
