I was under the impression this spindle was going to use the standard tapered roller bearings on a spindle pin...not the bolt-in integral bearings?

Either way the Blazer and Corvette use hat rotors so some sort of rotorless hub would have to be utililized.

Just clarifying whether or not the "G" body style was using the same spindle pin as the "A/F/X" spindle.

If you want to run on 15/16" wheels, stick with commercially available Bell-Tech variety spindles because you clearly are only interested in the cosmetics anyways and not how well the system performs.

Partially off-topic rant, coming up  ;D

For the record there are good reasons why people would want to run stock wheels.  I don't care what my truck looks like. I race it, daily drive it, and use it as an actual truck year round.  For 1/2 of that year I run snow tires and it would cost another $1k+ for a set to fit ZO6 wheels that will then be useless because they're a foot wide - ever see a ZO6 driving in a blizzard?

For me that increases the cost of the spindle swap by the price of the vette brakes and by a second set of winter wheels and tires to fit over them.  I may pop for that eventually but for now I'd just like better geometry so I can go fast enough to worry about my brakes.  IMHO that can't be any further from being strictly concerned with cosmetics.

I understand that most people who want this setup don't use it on a daily driver and won't have issues like this, but some do.  I also don't expect a manufacturer to cater to the very few with specific issues like this.  I'm pumped to see any vender on board offering a good product, whether I can use it or not.

rant over  :)

Your point that running small wheels means I'm only concerned with looks?

Well since C5/6 brakes can be adapted to a DP blazer spindle I'm sure they could be adapted the other way. Hell, maybe Ed Millers bracket could work the opposite way.

My point was you could easily be running any run of the mill drop spindle and see the same results.  Let's let the R&D money get spent developing for guys who will actually notice a difference.

i disagree. it may be more noticable with a shorter sidewall, but the effects are the same.
15 tires still need to keep contact patch on the right side to get any camber thrust and to cut down on roll over
my blazer is cooler than your s10

He still auto crosses his truck. It's just that it's his daily and he lives in Canada so he needs the ability to run snow tires. He could get some 17" snow tires but like the rest of us he is trying to keep costs down while making significant improvements to the geometry. My truck will also be a daily but thankfully snow isn't that big of a problem here or it would be the same problem for me.

Tyson, you always have the tall ball joint option. My main reason for wanting a tall spindle is I do not like the idea of brake adapter brackets. IMO it's just more that can fail.

Didn't mean to start a fight or whore L&H's thread, I just wanted to make that one point.  Tall balljoints are next on the list but I'm happy to see another spindle manufacturer stepping up in case I ever choose to go that route.

From the L&H Kustom website....

"in conjunction with our C5/C6 corvette disc brake conversion kit which includes billet aluminum hubs and billet aluminum caliper brackets."

If you use Blazer DP calipers or C5/C6 calipers, your still going to need a bracket.

For 1/2 of that year I run snow tires and it would cost another $1k+ for a set to fit ZO6 wheels that will then be useless because they're a foot wide - ever see a ZO6 driving in a blizzard?

Rentedmule, looks like you and me are in the same boat as I completely agree with you.

Once you do all the calcuations the L&H tall drop spindles will only cost a $200-$300 over tall ball joints and Belltech 2102 drop spindles for the Blazers IF you can reuse the Blazer DP brakes.

Later, Doug

Sorry guys I havent been on the site in a while been really busy finalizing the spindles. we began shipping the afx body spindles on monday. as far as the spindle pin we will offer it using the afx style spindle pin or the 79-later f body pin which uses a larger front bearing. the g body brakes suck and no reason redesign the spindle pin for poor brake options. We will be offering the blazer dual piston setup as a economical viable brake option. I am looking for a blazer d/p brake setup to complete the engineering so if anyone has a spidle the can send me i'll cover the freight I will offer a significant discount on a set of spindles. I am looking to have these available right after the first of the year.

Good news indeed.  Oh, btw, I've been planning to head to the pull-a-part this weekend anyways.  Looks like I'll be adding another item to the search list.

I have 3 sets, but they're all being used at the moment.   :-\  I'll add it to my Junkyard list too.  There's a place an hour from here that has them for $25 a piece all day.
