Best (affordable) Road Racing Shocks
« on: October 22, 2014, 06:23:39 PM »
Hey guys,

My buddy and I have built this truck for racing ChumpCar:

We've dropped it ~3" in the front and 5" in the back. What would you guys suggest for some non-adjustables?

Because of the rules, we used ZQ8 springs in the rear and then clamped the leafs together to stiffen everything and reduce axle wrap. In the front, we cut the coils, used Pro-Forged taller BJ's, and have 2" drop spindles.

does it have to be in the stock location?
If so, the zq8 bilsteins are probably your best bet.
if you can relocate them you can package many different options.
my blazer is cooler than your s10

Completely agree with Ryo, with that drop the bilsteins are probably as good as it gets short of having custom valved shocks built for the truck.

The Bilsteins are my go to as well.  About $80 each right now on Amazon.  I paid about $100 each a month ago; the price goes up and down, so grab them before they're out of stock.
