Once I get engine in if there is room for some gussets we're going to add them. we used a pretty thick piece of chromoly so it might be ok. a guy on another forum has the same setup and hasnt had any problems.

not necessarily worried about problems, but if you plan on taking hard lat forces, that's where 90% of the load is fed through, so you want it stiff

I think he'll probably loose traction on those front tires first.

The headers fit nicely! I need to get the firewall cut up and redone hopefully first coupe weeks on spring that will be happening! It'll just be sitting untouched untill spring time.

Just for a little specificity for everyone, this is a pro-street truck, not a pro-touring truck, and I for one am fine with that.

Well when I get the money I'll be switching out the wheels to something more pro touring style. when I originally started the build I wanted it to be a pro street but now I'm working my way to getting it into more of a pro touring truck. I'm going to put heat back in it and possibly AC. My intentions when it is finished is to be a pro touring truck.

Very cool on both counts! Step 1 IMHO, put the front swaybar back on, a ZQ8 or 2DR blazer one would be even better. :) How is the rear suspension set up?

Yeah I was planning on putting one back on! The rear has QA1 12 way adjustable shocks and Belltech leafs right now. I'm planning on putting cal-trac leafs on and cal-trac traction bars.

Traction bars are not good for cornering, they bind quite badly. There are good ways to re-enforce the front of the springs without raising the spring rate and without causing the bind of cal-tracs.

I want to put it on the strip sometimes too! I'm a lil torn on which way to go on rear suspension.
