alright, i will be custom backhalving my blazer frame with triangulated 4link and coilovers, but obviously it's not something you just go and do. lots of questions, lots of knowledge here, thanks in advance
From what i've read so far
1. lower bars should be close to level with the ground at ride height, and the longer the better (for lowers)
2. upper and lower bars should be angled so that when you draw an imaginary line (extending both bars) they should meet in the middle of the wheelbase
now, does width matter? will bars with a wider stance be more stable etc? (further apart from each other)
what angle should the coil overs be? is 80* (being angled toward the rear of the truck) a good guess? with coilover brackets being on rear of axle
i will be doing the full chassis design in google sketchup before i do any cutting or welding so feedback is much appreciated before i get started on that.
frame will be made of 2x4" 1/8"wall cold rolled tubing, sufficient?
link bars will be made of round tubing, diameter to be determined. will simply threading the tubing for rod ends be good or should they be bent to make rod end sit centred?
should the upper (triangulated) be closer together on the rear end or the chassis?
sorry for all the questions, i haven't found much information that gives a clear answer, lots of debates.
