IMO the GM power steering is over assisted. I have seen a pressure limiter that looked like a proportioning valve. Anyone have any idea who makes this? I know I could go manual but plans are for a hydro boost swap and I like P/S for parking.

Not sure about the pressure limiter, but I would go for a PS pump from these guys:
http://www.turnone-steering.com/pumpdirectory.htmlThe amount of assist is geared towards performance driving and, while they're a little harder to turn than the stock pump, they reconnect you to the road instead of that floaty feeling you get with typical power steering. A lot of the road racing f-body guys on frrax.com swear by these.

Who's the guy over on PTforums?
"Lee" out of California??
He does the rebuild with the proportioning valve. But it's not cheap.

There was a Q&A in the new Popular Hot Rodding that covered flow restrictors from Turn One Steering. Looked like they screw into the output of the power steering pump.

Thanks guys. I'm going to check them both out and see what they have to say about the hydro boost.
And yes Lee is the company that does the performance rebuilds.

Once the HB gets installed, Eric, you'll problably notice a slight 'draw' from the excess pressure. The HB units seem to restrict flow even when not braking & steering tightens up a little.. from what I've seen w/ mine.

That will be cool. I found the part before but can't now and it's pissin me off....haha

The only things I can find are restrictors for GM pump when used w/ Ford racks.

Do you have a link?
I saw an adjustable one somewhere, but I can't find it now. Suck cause I have a dead link saved and I think it's that one.
