under the hood!? what kind of race car are you making?

keep it in an easy to use location from where you drive.

how will you adjust for differing levels of traction on each surface?

(Dry asphalt setting, dry concrete setting, dusty setting, wet setting, etc etc)
my blazer is cooler than your s10

I did see that, just with the number and severity of bumps and or curbs people tend to drive over/into I just don't know, they're probably fine.

A race car that doesn't have brake lines in the cab, currently.

im bolting mine to the old combo valve bracket, which is bolted to the master on the firewall. if it was a true race truck running a sanctioned series, it would be in the cab, and it would be a lever style

i was in the middle of machining my parking brake solution and my mill stopped running.

ill learn to check the simple shit first next time lol

it was just a brush spring that had arced itself to death

i replaced it with the standard ball point unit, and im running again. need to order some brushes.

so heres my solution to make a first gen rear e/parking brake cables fit the 98+ blazer e/parking brake lever.

i used 4, 4mm set screws in a staggered pattern for the best grip on the cable

i just need to cut the old return spring shorter and slap it all together

That's quite a part!

My current plan is to splice in the rear half of a 4 door Blazer cable setup with the front half of the long bed.

I could see people being interested in buying your e-brake cable mod. Wouldn't hurt to throw up a thread somewhere else with a price if you'd be interested in that

i was about to order some repair bearings for the rear end, and they come in about 3 different sizes. so i pulled the drums back offf to measure it and get ready to swap discs and i noticed what appears to be a groove from a previous seal repair.  >:( im just going to deal with it for now. ill get a new axle set when it im driving it and the leaks persuade me.

i might do some pure facking magic and move that seal out too, i dunno

fbody ls1 rotors! i like them.

went to the "metal store" again. i love this place, this is just the scrap, square/rec aluminum isle. everything is by the pound, color coded pricing.

got some steel to make parking brake thingys and some 3/8" flat for ls1 brackets

brake adapters for sale

Just jumped on here for the first time in a while and decided to check your progress.  I was so psyched when I saw you were making ebrake cable adapters, I was going to tell say you should sell them and I would for sure buy a set!  I guess i'm a bit late in the game, you already started!  I'm probably going to have to pay the increased price though, since my budget is tapped and I don't have a disc brake rear end lined up yet.  Oh well, btw, the truck is looking great!

Also might be interested in the brackets you end up making for the front brake calipers.  I have drop spindles and would like to keep them, and I don't want to pop for the one's that fit 98+ blazers, too spendy.
93 Sonoma RCSB, 2.8 w/bolt on's.  ZQ8 leafs and rear bar, 3" blocks, ZQ8 Frame brace.   2" DJM Coils, UB Machine uppers, pro-forged tall ball joints, billet tie-rod adjusters, 32mm blazer front bar,  KYB GR2 shocks all around, trans-am steering box, Core performance short throw shifter.

FYI- if any of you have ever rebuilt the parking brake on the blazer brake setup you know the rebuilt kit is ridiculous. 130- $160. i found a kit on amazon that is around $60, but they say its for later model blazers, 00+. the kit looked identical, and i found that just the shoes alone worked for 97-05, which are $40/ pair. i needed the rubber boots and only one place sells and theyre kind of pricey. so i took the $20 gamble and bought the cheap kit, and it seems to be identical!

heres the one they try to sell you if you have a 97-99 axle or brakes

some before shots of my rears

painted

starting my spindles

first try with 3/8" didnt work out

4rth times a charm

spindle trimmed

clearances

i know the clip looks like its rubbing but it doesnt when its all together right with a pad in it (that was the reason for one of the dimension changes on the bracket).

i decided on my wheels. i will have to run 1.25" spacer adapters with them. front 17x7 40mm offset, rear 17x8 with 47mm offset. i really didnt want to run spacers, but the lack of selection in our bolt pattern and offset forced me to.

drag dr-38 in flat black

now im trying to decide on tire size. id like to run 235/50-17 front and 255/45-17 rear, but they are uncommon sizes which means less selection and more expensive. a 235/45 looks small and wants an 8" rim, although i think it would be ok on a 7".

a guy at s10forum posted this. left is a 235/50-17, right is a 235/45-17 both on an 8" rim.

im also wondering if ill even notice with my 4-5" drop. opinions welcome
