I've been building this truck now for 10 years, started when I was 13. Have changed directions many times and am finally nearing the end.
The main points,

V8 crate engine
Tci street fighter th400
8.8 discs
Vette c5s
5" front and rear drop
All lines stainless
Completely shaved
Homemade steel tonneau
Blow through
Active 4 way
Urethane bushings
Zq8 torsional dampener
Ford explorer sway bar

There's a ton of other things that's just what comes to mind. I regret not doing a better suspension, maybe in a few years I'll start playing around with it.

I've deffinetly noticed a lot of the older members not posting anymore. I'm glad there's a site like this,  I'm not into bagging and body dropping, and I have no intention of going straight.

our build are crazy similar. i started mine when i was 15, 10 years ago, and im not into the bagging thing either. nice build. what size wheel spacers are you running in front?

2.5 looks right by the fender clearance, or lack there-of.

One problem I have that I need to correct, I have a explorer 8.8 under it and I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with installing them, but they pretty much bolt right in. I egged out the holes on the leaf spring perch (evenly on both sides) and have the rear sitting in the truck centered  with no problems. Well when I installed lowering blocks the rear wants to go to the driver side. I figure if my dad gives me a hand I can pry it over and tighten it down. Anyone ever had a problem like this?

yea, its because theyre not bolt in. the axle pad spacing is different, the whole axle is too wide, and the bolt pattern is different. it should center when you tighten everything down, this is why im not a fan of the 8.8 swap unless its done properly.

Yep, I've done the 8.8 swap. You running the exploder rear bar? ..or front? Let's see some pictures of that if you're running the rear bar.

The holes probably aren't quite wide enough and the springs were flexing to give the last little bit, but when he put the blocks in that flex angle is seen as pushing the rear off to one side because the springs no longer flex right against the axle, so the angle of the offset is show across the whole distance of the block. It's not un-heard of. We should talk someone like LSoH into making custom blocks with the offset for the pin built into them so the explorer becomes a drop in with as little as a .5" block.

give me the dimensions and ill make a set, i have enough solid aluminum to make a set or 2. i can include an angle as well to get your pinion angle correct.

That's a great idea. Yeah I just widened the holes on my perch. I'll get some pics of the explorer rear sway bar.

Only pic I have on my phone.  That's where I mounted it.

Huge setback today, I was going to roll a bead around the edge of the tonneau, and it was making the sheetmetal real wavy. I didn't think, but those dies need a few inches of sheetmetal going through them, I only had a quarter inch going through it. I'm scrapping that cover and going with a glass one.

Man I haven't been on here for a long time. I used to be on s10forum a lot but I'm barely on there now too. I got this truck pretty much done.  I'm going back over the interior, still working on a lift system for the tonneau.

The truck came out great.  Very clean.

That new project looks like a quite the project.  Are you just planning a restoration or going bigger?

I'm going bigger. I'm swapping a porsche 914 in it, possibly turbocharging it too.

The front tires on my s10 a rubbing; which I guess is common with that much of a drop and the 17's. The power steering is about useless also haha.
