I second the Ball Joint on the LCA.  That is where the bolts always deform on my truck.

I'm guessing the measurement I took was from LCA to sway bar since I don't have links on the truck at the moment.

I was looking through the Rock Auto catalog and want to confirm you got the 2WD link?  The pictures definitely show the 2WD to be shorter.

No - I got the 4wd link which is what you mentioned in your original post.  You're right, the 2wd version does look much shorter in the pic on Rockauto.  That may be a better starting point - I'll check if they have the 2wd versions in stock locally

Yeah my notes do still say 4wd.  Go figure... haha If only I could go back and remember what I was thinking when I wrote that down.

From the looks of your measurement though something shorter would be better for us.  4wd might not be a bad stock replacement.

I talked to the local parts store this week when I took the 4wd links back.  The 2wd link is less than an inch shorter according to the info they have available but they didn't have one in stock to compare to.  I explained what I wanted and they're looking into other options.

Getting closer at least.  Obviously I'm interested to see what they come up with.

Cleaned up my C5 calipers today - one day I may even put them on the truck

They look great it black, that was my plan for them as well, except without the white lettering.

The lettering is just raw aluminum, I cut the paint off with a razor blade after letting it cure for a few hours.  I had planned on going with all black as well but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would

I was hoping it would be subtle without being boring, I'll have to check it out. If I don't like it I would go raw aluminum too, since that will match most of the rest of my truck, black and aluminum.

You'll have to go all black at some point anyway - you can always remove the paint from the lettering later on if you don't find it flashy enough  8)

I was thinking about it, I could go blue over the lettered areas only, allow it to fully cure, then do black over the whole caliper and wipe off the letters quickly before it sets up. Have blue letters on a black caliper. Not quite so flashy as the bare aluminum, but not too monotone and flat either.

I do  :D!  I'm thinking about using these as decorations and getting a second set for the truck...
