18X9.5 Z06 reps 275/285   2.0in spacers up front 2.5in spacers in the back







want to go to a 2.25 up front (like NO tie rod clearence right now) and im either going to a 3in spacer out back or just going to put a fat ass tire up under it cause I want them to sit more flush..

Get a 4x4, the wheels are bolt ons with no adapters.  heh

i put the down payment on my z06 wheels tonight.

now im looking at spacers.

i want tp put this by you guys.

i will be running a c5 conversion on the front, and IROC disc on the rear. the rotors are right at 3/8 thick at the wheel flange. should i compensate for the rotors when i order spacers?
i was thinking 2 inch in the front, and 2.5 rear. would that be flush and good fitting on my first gen?

also, should i be worried about the spacers with autocross and track days?

This is a stock ZQ8 with C4 "sawblades" used 2.5 spacers all the way around.

245/45-17 front
275/40-17 rears

Corvettes get the best wheels, not fair.

I really like the sawblades because the center disc covers up the spacer's & it looks factory.

The wagon wheels are real open & show the spacer,looks kinna cheesy IMO.

the sawblades really have grown on me over the past few years.

Anyone know what the narrowest 17" C5 vette wheel is?  Would it be a "wagon wheel" or one of the thin spokes?

I'll probably need new winter tires next season so I'd like to ditch my 15" stockers and up to a 17 to clear future brake upgrades.

i think both thin spoke and wagon are the same dimensions of 17x8.5"

How narrow could I go with a tire on an 8.5" wheel?  Is a 225 too thin or would I have to go 235 or higher? 

depends on sidewall too, whats the overall diameter you are aimin for?

btw, why skinny?

I'm currently running 205/75-15's with an overall diameter of around 27" and I think I'd like to go for around 26" or 26.5" with the 17's.  That would put me at about a 225/55 or a 235/50.

I find (relatively) skinny tires much better on snow for cutting through instead of floating on top.  There's also a better selection of new/used winter tires in the narrower widths.

I've had a few 4wd 'yotas with 10.5" and 12.5" wide tires in the past - they were decent in the deep stuff but scary on regular snow-covered roads.

ah yes, for snow. im currently running 155s on my civic and they do snow amazingly.

but personally, if you worry about snow traction, i recommend having a snow wheel/tire, and a separate summer tire.
initial cost is high, but well worth it in my opinion.

Yeah, that's exactly what I want to do.  I have 17/18 ZO6's for the summer but I'd like to ditch my stock 15" sonoma wheels and winter tires for 17" vette wheels and winter tires.  I already have the spacers so I figured that would be an easy way to go. 

I'm going to need to replace the winters I have now at the end of this season anyway so I figured it would be a good time to make room for future brake upgrades.

possibly consider bmw wheels for the 7" wide 17s

1010tires says
225/50/17 is the narrowest roughly 26" tire you can use on an 8" wheel

but there are people running 205s stretched on a 9" wheels as well
