What rims are you currently running? I have always wondered if people would have problems with that system of bump-steer prevention with a wider rim.

I am only running a 15x7 that is offset a bit too far to the outside. I am quite sure anyone with an 18" wheel would be fine, or a steel 17". They only stick over past my 15" by about an inch and three quarters, and at that, you could pretty easily just cut off most of the bottom threaded area, it'll never be useful and is a pretty big pain when threading on the nylon lock nut.

hmm I'm surprised to hear that. With my 17x8's and drop spindles the tie rod ends are within 1/4-1/2" Which lead me to believe anything wider and the tie rod clearance would definitely be an issue.

I don't have drop spindles, somehow didn't even think of that, I'm probably going to have to cut them off right near the nuts with drop spindles.

Looks like my drop spindles arrived today. Got them from "The Suspension Source" and they are no-name spindles, but I talked to the guy there and if they don't measure up, they're taking them back and I'll only be out shipping. He has several pairs left and he's clearing them out at $109 a pair plus shipping. I'll break out the calipers and throw up a topic tomorrow and let everyone know all about them.

I can't and won't say this on the other site, but the no-name spindles I picked up are belltechs. They're powdercoated hammertone, but they have 2100 cast right on the back of them and they're a full 2-piece pressed-pin design.

I was dumbfounded when I opened the box up and pulled out a powdercoated belltech spindle. I almost wonder if they watched for my order and set me up special because I very clearly stated on the other forum that if they came out sketch at all I would break out a set of calipers and make sure they were going to be quality, I'd go so far as to take them down to the scrapper right up the street and have them tested for material if I was worried about them.

Ok, I am buying parts for my truck. Are the adjustable UCAs worth $300 instead of $100 for tubular.

If you don't do your own alignments and aren't going to mess with them constantly I wouldn't say they're worth it IMHO.  I've read more than one thread on pro-touring about the adjusters seizing too which may be a real risk if you drive year-round in crappy weather.

The alignment shop had no problem reaching the SC&C suggested performance specs with my non-adjustable UB machine arms.

That's right along the lines with my thoughts. It is a DD and I don't plan on changing the alignment too often, and when I do for a track day, it seems lik it would be easier to drop in an extra shim pack.

Although I don't have experience with either I would definitely think the tubular would be the way to go in your situation. If it's going to see any snow or salt at all I would not go with adjustable.

Luckily the last time it snowed anywhere I lived in the valley I was 5 or 6 and the only salt it might ever see would be from an ocean breeze.

As much as I want this truck to be as close to a race-ready package, I don't think the adjustables are in the cards. I have to draw a line somewhere, it wasn't at a completely gutted interior, it wasn't at a cage(in design, have a company lined up) but practicality puts it at adjustable UCAs and budget puts it at an LSX swap.

Oh, and I finally decided on a paint scheme today, even though it will be in primer for a LONG time, body will be ZR1 blue and roof will be white.

How about Gransport stripes on the drivers side fender?

Been done or I would have considered it. I still might though. I just like the blue.

Ordered wheels for my truck today. $187.50 shipped for a full set of four NTO 2011 Camaro base steelies with no tires, but with caps and trim rings. :)

They should be here next week some time and I'll test fit them without tires and see what kind of spacer I'm going to need. I'm fairly confident that I'll just need 1" spacers though.

Got the full list of parts for my truck pulled together, boy is it a doosey. I hate the domino effect this has all had. I need drop spindles, so I may as well replace the hub, if I'm going to bother getting a new hub I should just get the FNB hubs I need for the brake swap, then you can't use stock brakes with the FNB hub, so I'm doing the full brake upgrade, but the fronts are too big for my 15s, so I had to order new wheels, which require a spacer, and since I'm getting bare wheels I need new tires, and if I'm getting new tires I should get some good ones. And while I'm replacing all of that, I can't put it on old ball joints, so since I'm installing new ball joints I should just get the tall ones, which means I need a new UCA, and LCA bushings. Oh and an adjustable proportioning block for the brakes since I'm switching from drums. And while I've got the suspension apart I should put the drop springs in too. Wow it's going to drop the front 4-4.5", I have to drop the back or it's going to be rediculous, new leaf springs, which requires new rear shocks, and there goes $2500.

Think of how much fun it will be once you spend all that money though!   ;D

Well, parts have be TRICKLING in. I did get the wheels in, minus the center caps somehow. I got in touch with the seller and he apparently sent them separately, and they were returned to him, supposedly. He is two day airing them to me though, so they should be here pretty quickly. I'm still deciding on tire size, which I need to decide on and get ordered and installed, so I can figure out how much spacer I'm going to need. having them in had and measuring them, a 1" spacer will not be enough like I had wanted. I might be able to get away with a 1.5" spacer. I'll be doing my best to get the scrub as close to 0 as possible, regardless of track up front. For the rear, now knowing the backset of these wheels, I'm going to hit the yards and see if I can't nab a 4wd axle for a song and a dance, that way I don't have to buy spacers and I can see about bringing the gear ratio down numerically.

Don't know if I said anything about it yet, but I got a new job, finally. Couldn't be happier, despite a few stressful days already. Having to learn a whole new industry from scratch can be a real effort, but the pay is good, the benefits are good, and instead of having my hours cut to within a hair of part time, I'm pulling overtime almost every day. Being the quietest part of the day(because everyone is gone) it's the best and easiest time to learn new things, that I can practice the next day then. I'm actually off my ass for more or less the entire day too, so I'm hopefully going to get back into some semblance of shape.

I also built a new computer, so rendering my frame and modifications should be a lot quicker and easier now, hopefully I can get started back on that here shortly. Having a truck in my hands to measure, I should be able to really nail down what I can and can't squeeze out of her.

Anyone know a good body guy in AZ? I really need to get the floor fixed.
