Well,I now have 2 1st gens. The little 2.8 is a tbi NOT n/a,pretty much as I suspected.Paint is fucked, interior is so so,drivers door don't open from the outside. The good side of this is I don't have to do the ABS delete when I put the hb in and I have all the parts to change out anything that is fucked up.Grill and headlights are first on the list, install the h4 buckets and the HID's,change the dash and inst cluster, remove back seat(Jason didn't you need some hinges or something from the back seat?),fix holes in roof where the roof rack was removed.Order wheel adapters and tires for c5 wheels so I can see how much drop I can get w/o clearance problems.Any advice on the parts to buy and do a drop the right way would be appreciated, about all I really know about dropping it is spindles, springs, shocks, and blocks.Since I will be there I want to rebuild the front end, bottom to top,as I said, any and all advice is appreciated, suspensions are kind of like physics to me,I don't know jack shit about either!

If you are rebuilding the front end might as well do the tall balljoint swap and drop spindles. That would bring it down 2 1/2" up front.

There are a few way to go about it.
1)UB Machine upper control arms, C10 upper ball joints (FA903 is the part number for McQuay-Norris and Duralast) and HOWE or Power Performance tall lower ball joints. This would be the least expensive combo. This is the swap on my truck and it came to about $220 or so.

2)SPC upper control arms with PP tall upper and lower balljoints. The arms are more expensive but are a lot nicer.

3)SPC uppers and HOWE balljonts. All top of the line parts and the balljoints are rebuildable. Might not want to pary $85+ per balljoint.

SPC arms and HOWE balljoints from here (Marcus gives a military discount):

Power Performance ball joints:
http://www.powerperformancemotorsports.com/category.sc;jsessionid=E085B8694A4BC0D1D72B6703CE61C926.qscstrfrnt02?categoryId=29
UB machine:
http://www.ubmachine.com/
Now UBM will be a bit of a pain since you have to talk to them. Ask for Tony and tell him you want the metric chassis tall balljoint swap upper control arms that use the C10 balljoint. Mention Michel Crawford and or Eric Howell when you call. Mine were $127 shipped to give you an idea of price but they were only the second set so the price may have changed.

Rear you could use blocks, ZQ8 springs (not sure how much they give on 1st gen) or drop springs.

Well just ordered parts.
Spindles

Springs

Front shocks
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-8007/
Rear shocks

I already have 3" blocks. Before all this goes on the entire front end will be rebuilt.I hope that what I have bought will work with one combination or another of control arms and ball joints.Did I buy the wrong shit?

Fedex was here again.

I'll start putting it all in once I get the front end completely rebuilt.I don't think 3"  is going to get me where I want to be,need to be lower.
