Rear,nothing special,3" blocks,and again,Belltech Nitro drop2 shocks.

Just curious but why did you use drop shock in the rear if you went with the blocks?  Won't that limit the suspension travel esp. in rebound?

I asked my self the same damn question as I was puttin the blocks in,I have no idea what I was thinking when I ordered those, but on the other hand,as I was removing the last nut from the U bolts on the driver side, shock, mount and all fell in the floor,So in this case I'm thinking a shock that is a little short may be better than no shock at all. The blocks are temporary.I am going to go to springs for a couple of reasons first, obviously,I got the shocks for it.Second,I want it lower. But yeah,I'm a dumb ass!

Ok,the front clip has been changed

When the engine is finished the front clip will come back off as will the front end for cleaning and rebuilding,I'll get to that in a little bit.

The lower end.I am trying to build a very strong lower end,I intend to get 400hp out of this engine one way or another,I don't care how.The block is an early non balance shaft block bored .30(no pics, sorry),the crank is one of the early heavy cranks,I chose this crank hoping that when sent out for balancing that it would need weight REMOVED from it NOT added, thus turning 100$ balance job into 300$.The crank/flex plate/balancer along with the bob weight were all sent to Dallas for balancing. The pistons are Keith Black 10.5:1 forged Icon pistons, bought a set of sbc's for about 10$ more than a set of v6,got 2 spares. The weight on the piston were perfect, the 2 extra pistons got the 2 light wrist pins(2grams).Connecting rods are Eagle H beams.

Keith Black Icon's.

Eagle H beams,not real good pics,sorry!

The mains will be studded.

The cam was going to be a CompCams 266,which I cannot use since this is a non balance shaft engine the cam is physically shorter,SO,sent the new oe cam out for regrinding to a small base circle cam,not sure what the exact duration is going to be,somewhere in the 280 range I was told, lift will be 540.When you consider that a CompCams  280 is 280/.525 and about 265$,regrinding the oe to a 280/.540 is 75$,more money to be spent somewhere else.

Induction.I am beginning to wonder if the 670 Holley Projection is going to provide enough fuel,if not,I have found another stand alone injection system that will.

Edelbrock 2114 with 670Holley Projection.

Nice work, should be very interesting to see how this turns out. I have seen larger injector pods for these, ebay usually has them. For 400HP though you're going to either need boost or spray.

Exhaust.JBA Titanium Ceramic headers,I'll build a new 2.5" "Y" pipe, muffler is undecided yet,2.5" all the way back to the stock exit is the current plan, which is always subject to change.

JBA's and custom built 8.5mm MSD wires.

I am debating using manual steering and manual brakes, running nothing but water pump and alternator to keep the parasitic draw on the engine to a minimum.Thoughts?
More parts that will probably make it into this project or the next which is an 83 s10 p/u.

Zexel and 3.73's

Camaro rear disc conversion.

Hydro boost will probably go on the 81 GMC.

Flexalite 210's.

Depends on what you'll be using the truck for. DD or autocross and power steering would be highly advisable, road course and drag manual would be ideal.

Spray.I am looking at a 471 set up made for the 4.3.BDS makes an intake for it.I found a whole kit for about 3200$I grew up with manual steering and brakes,I ride GF most of the time so not really a DD.

Crank is back, they had to add weight to both ends, got kinda pricey!Fuck it,it aint about the money,it's about what you get for your money, the end results. The cam should be back today or Monday, when it gets here the top end will go on.Pics.

IMO the parasitic drag on the engine is very little until you are turning and/or braking with the hydroboost.

Those rods are sexy....lol, that sounds so fucking gay
